Global Lab has been providing quality testing services for over 25 years.

DOUG FISHBURN, President

Douglas Fishburn, OAC (University of Guelph), RRO, GRP, has over 50 years of experience in roofing and building envelope design and construction. He has served as President of the Ontario Chapter of IIBEC and as an IIBEC Regional Director, and has contributed to various IIBEC, CGSB, and CSA committees. Doug holds several Canadian and US patents in roofing and building science.

With a strong focus on improving building enclosure performance, Doug has dedicated his career to enhancing roofing systems through all phases of design, construction, and maintenance. His extensive knowledge has been crucial in setting industry standards and guiding research efforts, and his work has always promoted excellence in the roofing industry.

While others retire after such a significant career, Doug remains passionate about work. This summer he'll be at his cottage - and you'll most likely find him building a new roof.

ASHLEIGH UISKA, Managing Director

Ashleigh Uiska, MSc. Arch, AOCAD, LEED AP, GRP,  has 20 years of experience in the construction industry, with a strong focus on sustainability and innovation.  She earned her Master of Science: Architecture from the Center for Alternative Technology at the University of East London and holds an Environmental Design Associate degree from the Ontario College of Art and Design (now OCAD University).

Ashleigh's work connects ecology and building science, focusing on material and system performance. Her research includes work on bio-based building materials, green infrastructure, and the policies needed to adopt them. She plays a key role in driving Global Lab's research agenda and managing operations.

Ashleigh's aim to reduce the environmental impact of the construction sector drives her passion at work. She believes that durability is a core principle of sustainability, and that providing high quality quantitative data can help better inform decision makers, ensuring optimization of the building envelope over time
